Maargi is the musical and alternative performance wing of Vihaan—born from a deep-rooted belief that theatre and music are not separate crafts, but shared vessels of emotion, memory, and meaning.
Emerging from the early spirit of Vihaan Sangeet, Maargi was envisioned as a space where actors become musicians, and performance becomes prayer. It is not merely a band—it is a bridge between disciplines, traditions, and generations.
At its heart, Maargi carries four evolving pillars:
Songs from Vihaan's plays
theatrical compositions that live beyond the stage
Poetic compositions
musical renderings of timeless Hindi literature and original verse
Folk and tribal roots
invoking the music of India's soil, stories, and spirit
Voices of new poetry
songs born from contemporary young poets and truth-seekers
Each performance is crafted not just to entertain but to restore a connection—to heritage, to language, to listening. Whether through immersive concerts, documentation projects, or collaborations, Maargi aims to preserve, reinterpret, and transmit these artforms for younger audiences and artists who may be losing touch with their cultural and poetic roots.
Maargi also provides an alternate stage—a parallel space for Vihaan’s young performers to grow as musicians, storytellers, and custodians of sound.
In Maargi, music is not background. It is foreground. It is foregrounded soul.
This is Maargi — a path of devotion, discovery, and daring. Where actors sing, songs speak, and silence too has sound.
Extending Maargi’s journey into forgotten traditions, we reclaim the fierce female voice in Chaar Bait — through rhythm, rebellion, and song. Read More
